My name is Salih Can Johnny Konuk, founder and chef behind Mount Kaz Catering, based in the heart of Crested Butte, Colorado. What began as a lifelong dream—to offer genuine hospitality and unforgettable food experiences—has grown into a company rooted in quality, creativity, and a deep connection to the land and people we serve.

At Mount Kaz Catering, we specialize in crafting personalized menus for weddings, private dinners, and intimate gatherings. Each event is a reflection of our clients’ unique tastes, guided by my commitment to using the freshest, locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. We partner with an incredible network of Colorado farmers and purveyors—including Mountain Bird, Twisted Root, Juno Farms, J&M Farm, Motchkins Meat INC, and Big B's to bring the very best from the field to your plate.

My culinary journey began at age 12 in my family's restaurant in Turkey. Since moving to the United States in 2018 and settling in Crested Butte in 2020, I’ve continued to pursue my passion for food and hospitality. I got my start locally as a prep cook at Coal Creek Grill, where I had the privilege of working under Chef Douglas Dodd—still the best chef I’ve ever known.

With roots in Turkish cuisine and a background enriched by European and American food cultures, my cooking reflects a global perspective grounded in tradition and elevated by technique. From slow-braised meats to vibrant vegetarian spreads, every plate we serve is meant to tell a story—one that’s deeply personal and universally delicious.

At Mount Kaz, we believe catering is about more than just dropping off food. It’s about creating an experience. That means I’ll be right there with you on the day of your event—answering questions, plating dishes, and making sure everything flows seamlessly. My mission is to make your special occasion not just memorable, but meaningful.

We're proud to operate under Forest Queen F&B LLC and continue to grow with projects like The Rolling Kaz—our farm-to-belly food truck and a late-night food concept bringing hot dogs, chili dogs, and maybe a few surprises to the hungry night owls of Crested Butte.
